There is nothing quite like a historic ranch for a wedding in Simi Valley, and the Quail Ranch is certainly no exception. Our couple chose this historic ranch for their classic and idyllic wedding, with it’s Spanish influenced architecture, large landscaped grounds, and sweeping avocado orchards. But the best way to tell the story of a wedding day is to see the wedding photos that show this beautiful day through our eyes. So read on for our day of Quail Ranch wedding photography.

Wedding Preparation at Quail Hill

Our bride got ready in the cottage at the top of the property, a beautiful spot to tuck the bride away as the guests slowly come in. It is flooded with lots of natural light, and framed by a beautiful pool in front.

And you have to love it when the bride is laughing so much on her wedding day.

The mother of the bride had a sweet moment with her daughter, pinning the veil to her head. But then the bride started crying a little and that triggered some laughs!

After our bride got into her wedding dress, we did some wedding portraits of her with her bridesmaids.

Groom Getting Ready / Preparation

The groom got ready in a library or study in the main building, surrounded by rich, dark wood and a very classic look and feel.

Our groom celebrated his wedding day by having a scotch with his groomsmen.

First Touch at the Quail Ranch Cottage

Our couple followed the tradition of not seeing each other until the wedding ceremony, but that doesn’t mean they can’t touch hands! We set them up at the corner of the lovely cottage at Quail Ranch and let the emotions fly! Seriously such a sweet, funny, and tender moment.

Quail Ranch Wedding Ceremony

The courtyard at Quail Ranch is a beautiful location for a wedding ceremony. Here is what the chair layout looks like before the guests sit down.

Here is our groom, anxiously and excitedly awaiting the entrance of his bride. The entrance for the bride is down a large staircase edged with large floral blooms.

Here is that amazing Quail Ranch staircase that descends into the courtyard.

Quail Ranch Wedding Photography

After the wedding ceremony, we did family photos, immediately followed by our wedding photography couples session. We took them around the grounds of the ranch and even stopped by the sprawling avocado orchard. We started the wedding portrait session at the large staircase. This really is one of the more picturesque properties in Simi Valley for wedding photography.

Sunset Wedding Photos in Simi Valley

We saved the sunset for the view coming from the top of the property, getting the foreground of beautiful, blooming flowers and the warm sunset coming in from behind.

There is a swing on the grounds of Quail Ranch that makes for some awesome wedding portraits.

Wedding Reception at Quail Ranch

The wedding reception took place between the main building and the cottage, on the large grass lawn under a huge sprawling tree.

Grand Entrance and First Dance at Quail Hill

Our couple came in for their Grand Entrance from above.

And started straight into their first dance as husband and wife. This next image is NOT shopped in any way. The bokeh of the tree leaves made it look like a painting.

This was the first buffet we had seen since February of 2020. The food was served by servers, but still it interesting seeing one after so long.

The gelato was provided by Tondi Gelato out of Santa Barbara.

More Quail Hill Wedding Photography with a Vintage Mercedes

Our groom was able to borrow a truly classic car from a family friend, a 1970 Mercedes 280SE. We took the bride and groom out of the wedding reception for 10 minutes to capture them with this classic and vintage vehicle.

Then we hopped up to the pool in front of the cottage for low-light night photos.

Our couple decided to go with wedding cupcakes instead of a wedding cake.

Grand Exit / Sendoff at Quail Ranch

At the end of the wedding, they had all of the wedding guests gather to send off the couple on their new life together. They did their grand exit in the classic mercedes.

This a great example of wedding photography in Simi Valley, where the Quail Ranch is one of the more amazing places to get married. It reminds us of doing wedding photography at the Hummingbird Ranch that is not too far away in the foothills in Simi Valley.
