I’ve been super excited about shooting Denise and Dennis’s (yea… I know… can’t forget their names) wedding ever since they’ve decided to go with me as their wedding photographer.  This is the very first time that I am leading my own wedding!!! YAY!!!  As I was driving to their BEAUTIFUL wedding location, Pasadena Ambassador Mansion and Gardens, I felt butterflies in my stomach.  These weren’t nervous butterflies, but instead, they were anxious butterflies eagerly waiting to capture timeless moments.  I had so many ideas that I wanted to try with Denise and Dennis!  These two are totally rad!! They are such a charming, down-to-earth and laid-back couple.  This made my first experience such a memorable and pleasant experience.

You can view their entire wedding gallery here:

Denise’s wedding dress is an exquisite vintage-looking dress.  It’s very flowing and has a LOTS of layers.  It was kinda funny photographing Denise getting into her dress because she was caught in between the layers and had tough time “diving into” her dress.

And here she is…

Let’s now meet our strapping groom, Dennis at the alter.  Dennis works for the television industry and is a natural in front of the camera.  Dennis is a goofy yet sincere kinda guy that is not afraid to show his emotions.

This is one of my favorite pictures.  The laugh on Denise’s face is just so geniune and adds so much life to the picture.

After the ceremony, we had lots of time to wander around the garden for pictures.  Here are some of my personal favorites.

I really like this candid picture of Denise as she’s walking away.  There’s something about it that is so serene.

The spiral stairs in this big mansion is sooooo cool!  I had to put my couple in the middle for a photo.

At the reception, the toasts constantly made Denise and Dennis giggle and laugh.

The dance floor was filled with family and friends celebrating the joyous union of Denise and Dennis!  I was just thinking… remember Bennifer or Branglina???  How would we do a word name for Denise and Dennis???  Would it be D-E-N-N-I-S-E???  =)

Kasie & Tim | Married!

August 15, 2009

Lights… Camera… Action!!!  That’s Right… Kasie and Tim are getting married at Paramount Studios.  The second I set foot onto Paramount Studios… everything was so surreal!  It was awesome having the opportunity to photography my couple at the New York backlot.

But first… the ring shoots!  Kasie’s ring is BEAUTIFUL.  What’s funny is that her wedding band and my wedding band are exactly the same!!!

When I first saw Kasie’s wedding gown, I thought it looks very Greek-Goddess like.  What’s more amazing is the fabric is so soft and light… perfect for a summer wedding.

kt-blog-003

“Something old, something new… something barrowed, something blue”  Kasie wanted something extraordinary, so she decided to go for blue shoes!!! Awesome for pictures!

kt-blog-004

And now let’s meet our bride, Kasie.  She’s a sweet, spontaneous, and down to earth kinda girl!  Kasie wanted to break away from traditions so she had seven brides maids, all wearing different styles of dresses with different shades of blue (and brown).  What a wonderful idea!!!

At the alter… we have our anxious groom waiting for the arrival of his bride.  I always love to capture the look on the groom’s face when he sees the bride for the first time.  That’s just something about it that’s so sincere and geniune.  I can’t find the right words to describe why, but here and there I find myself getting a little emotional seeing the look on the groom’s face as his bride walks down the aisle.  As a soon to be bride, I guess I relate and share that moment of happiness with my couple.

“And now you may kiss your bride!”

“… Wait just a sec,” says Kasie as she reaches into her cleavage to pull out a Listerine spray.  ***LOL***

And here you have it… for the first time:  Mr. and Mrs. Mehram!

kt-blog-024

After the ceremony, we had about 15 minutes to catch a ride (on a little golf cart) to the New York backlot for a few photos.  It was AWESOME!!!

Kasie and Tim wanted a picture where they were running up from a subway station.  I love the vacant and desserted feel to this picture!

Wow… what a wonderful wedding!  Thank you Kasie and Tim for having us there and being a part of your big day.  Congrats guys… you guys ROCK!

Bernadette and Payon’s engagement session started off with a few drinks at the bar inside of Union Station in Los Angeles.  This lovely and down-to-earth couple “says” that they are camera shy…  I find that hard to believe because their pictures show otherwise.

We started off with a some pictures in the courtyard and worked our way up to the train tracks.  Aren’t they so adorable together?  Payon seems to enjoy the position of his head (against Bernadette’s chest) a whole lot throughout the engagement session.

Roxy & Kam — Engaged!

August 1, 2009

I’ve known Kam for about 5 years now (when Gavin and I first started dating).  Gavin told me many silly and crazy stories about his college years at UCLA with Kam.  A few years ago, we went on a double date and that was when we met Roxy for the first time… and NOW they’re getting married!  Their wedding will be on Aug. 15th at the Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort in Huntington Beach.

For their engagement session, we started off with some quick pictures around the house and then over to Laguna Beach.

I love this picture of the two of them.  These two are so madly in love that every smile is so geniune and filled with happiness!
